J.T. Phillips, Georgia Perimeter unable to advance to JUCO world series

FROM STAFF REPORTSMay 18, 2014

COVINGTON, Ga. -- J.T. Phillips and Georgia Perimiter came up short in their bid for a berth in the JUCO world series.

Georgia Perimeter was hosting the East Central Regional (Georgia and Tennessee) and won its opener 5-1 over Motlow, Tenn., on Friday.

But Georgia Perimeter lost both its game on Saturday, 5-0 to Columbia State (Tenn.) and 9-0 to Darton (Albany, Ga.).

The Bi-City area will be well-represented, however. Chattahoochee Valley will be making its first trip since 1996, and Phillips' former Columbus High teammate Kyle Carter will be at the world series in Grand Junction, Colorado, with his Miami-Dade team.

CVCC opens at 9:30 p.m. Saturday night. Miami-Dade plays at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.
