Police: Robber beats man, takes $300 near Harrison Avenue

Officers are searching for a armed robbery suspect accused of beating and threatening a 23-year-old man with a pistol Tuesday near Harrison Avenue, according to a Columbus police report.

The victim told police he was near the intersection of Harrison Avenue and 44th Street, when a 5-foot-8 black man in his 20s pointed a gun in his face. He then pushed the victim down, punched him and took $300, according to the report.

The suspect was described as wearing a white T-shirt and basketball shorts. Anyone with further information should contact Investigative Services at (706) 653-3400.
