Chelsee Wright named soccer MVP at USC Salkehatchie

May 22, 2014

Chelsee Wright was named MVP in her first year playing for the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie women's soccer team.

Wright also was chosen for the NJCAA Region X All Region team by a vote of the Region X coaches.

She was 43rd nationally in saves with 92 and 44th in save percentage at .814.

"Chelsee Wright is a take charge goal-keeper who commands the penalty box with her forceful personality and aggressive play," said USC Salkehatchie coach Bill Glass, "Wright is very vocal and eagerly takes responsibility for organizing the team's defense and encouraging the offense."

Wright is constantly looking to reach higher levels of accomplishment in soccer and will be playing in the Women's Premier Soccer League this summer. After that she has one more season of NJCAA soccer coming up this fall with the USC Salkehatchie Indians. After the fall semester she will be leaving junior college for the NCAA. Wright has already received offers from several NCAA colleges but is still undecided as to where she will be attending college and minding the net in 2015.
