Ashburn, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Redskins have signed linebacker Trent Murphy, their second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Murphy was selected with the 47th overall choice earlier this month after a standout career at Stanford. He finished third in Cardinal history with 32 1/2 sacks in starting 42 of the 44 games he played.

As a senior in 2014, Murphy led the FBS with 15 sacks in 14 starts, earning All-Pac-12 honors.

The Redskins also signed free agent wide receiver Rashad Ross and waived wide receiver Kofi Hughes.
