Chris McCoy, Cody Pearcy to start for Columbus Lions on Sunday

May 24, 2014

The Columbus Lions' Chris McCoy will take over for the injured Antwon Young at quarterback in Sunday's game at Nashville.

McCoy re-signed with the Lions before the start of the 2014 season after being out of the game for the previous two seasons.

Sunday's game will be McCoy's first start since the last playoff game of the 2011 season. Young suffered a season-ending ACL injury in the May 17 game at Alabama.

McCoy played at the end of a blowout win against Georgia on April 26.

Sunday's game will also be the first time former Glenwood standout Cody Pearcy will see the field. Pearcy played at Huntingdon College, then was signed briefly by the Atlanta Falcons in 2012.

The kickoff for Sunday's game is set for a 3 p.m. at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
