AUM, Jade Sasser (Northside) one win away from NAIA national title

May 27, 2014

Auburn Montgomery and Jade Sasser (Northside High) are one win away from winning the NAIA softball world series.

AUM (43-6) beat Reinhardt 2-0 on Tuesday at South Commons to advance to the championship round on Thursday. Three teams, including Reinhardt, will battle Wednesday to escape the losers bracket and face AUM in the finals.

AUM's opponent must beat it twice in the finals of the double-elimination tournament.

Sasser, a first baseman, went 1-for-2 in Tuesday's win.

Lauren Shaw went 3-for-3 and drove in both runs with a homer in the third inning.
