Kyle Carter (Columbus High), Miami Dade rout Blinn in JUCO world series

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Kyle Carter (Columbus High) went 1-for-3 with an RBI, and Miami Dade routed Blinn (Texas) 11-2 late Tuesday night in the JUCO world series.

Miami Dade scored five runs in the first inning and went on the win in a game that was shortened to eight innings due to the mercy rule.

Carter was Miami Dade's designated hitter in the game.

In the first inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that drove in a run. He hit a single in the second, flied out in the fourth and struck out in the seventh.

Miami Dade will face Iowa Western at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night. They are the only two unbeaten teams left in the tournament. Blinn plays Spartanburg Methodist in an elimination game at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
