Teen charged in burglary captured on home video

An Auburn, Ala., teen has been charged in a burglary that was captured on the victim’s video camera, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

Trevonta Jamal Guy, 18, was arrested by the Auburn Police Department on Monday and charged with giving a false name to an officer and four outstanding warrants on failure to appear. Lee County authorities later learned that he was wanted for burglary and theft of property.

Guy is held on $7,000 bond stemming from the burglary and theft charges.

Authorities said a burglary victim reported that someone broke into a Waverly, Ala., home and took two televisions, a Sony playstation, trail camera, golf clubs and other items valued at $2,349 on May 20. The victim gave investigators a home video with suspects entering the home and taking property.

Guy was identified as one suspect in the video. Investigators are seeking information on the identity of the second suspect. Anyone with information should call 334-749-5651 or Lee County Crime Stoppers at 888-522-7847.
