Kyle Carter, Miami Dade fall in JUCO world series final


GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Kyle Carter (Columbus High) and Miami Dade fell to Iowa Western 17-5 in the championship game of the JUCO world series on Friday night.

Carter, who was starting on three days rest, took the loss. He allowed six runs (five earned) and nine hits in four innings of work.

Carter gave up three runs in the second and three more in the fourth.

Miami Dade rallied with five in the fourth, But Iowa Western scored five in the seventh and six in the ninth.

Carter pitched a complete game in leading Miami Dade past Spartanburg Methodist 8-3 on Monday.
