Free meals this summer at 23 Muscogee County schools

The 2014 Seamless Summer Feeding Program in the Muscogee County School District starts Monday at 23 participating schools, Marian Bone, the district's nutrition director, announced in a news release.

Eligible children are ages 1 to 18 or age 19 and older if physically or mentally handicap and participating during the school year in a public or private nonprofit school program.

Breakfast will be served from 8 to 8:45 a.m., followed by lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The program will be open Mondays through Thursdays through July 24, except for July 3-4.

Adults also are welcome, but they will be charged $1.50 for breakfast and $3 for lunch.

• Eddy Middle

• Fox Elementary

• Hannan Elementary

• Johnson Elementary

• Key Elementary

• Lonnie Jackson Elementary

• Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary

• Rigdon Road Elementary

• South Columbus Elementary

• Spencer High

• St. Marys Road Elementary

• Wesley Heights Elementary
