Police: Man fires at group in parking lot

A 30-year-old Columbus man, Vincent Barnard King, is accused of firing a pistol at people standing in a parking lot.

According to the Columbus police report, King has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

The report says the incident occurred a couple of minutes after 2 a.m. on Oates Avenue. Police officers had been dispatched to the area of 42nd Street and 7th Avenue in reference to shots being fired.

Nobody was injured.

Three of the people being shot at are teens.

Those being shot at told police they do not know King.
