Machete, handgun among items reported stolen from cars on Alma Street

A machete and a handgun were among items reported stolen from vehicles on Alma Street in Columbus.

Four vehicles were broken into according to the police report.

The gun taken from a car was a Smith & Wesson. Also taken from the vehicle was an emergency kit.

The crime occurred between 10 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle was in the carport.

The owner noticed the car had been broken into and items strewn around when he returned home.

A truck on Alma had a machete and hunting knife taken.

The crime occurred between 10 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The owner told police he left the car unlocked. It was parked in the driveway.

A third car had a set of keys taken. sometime between 6 a.m. Friday and 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The vehicle was parked in a carport.

A fourth vehicle, a truck, was broken into but nothing was taken. Items from the glove department was strewn around the vehicle.

The crime occurred between 5 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday. The car was parked in the driveway.
