Police ended a month-long manhunt Thursday for a suspect accused of gunning down a man on Adair Avenue, according to a Columbus police press release.

Officers named Sacorey McKelvey, 22, as a suspect in 29-year-old Cory Owens' shooting in early May, according to earlier Ledger-Enquirer reports. He has been charged with murder.

Owens was found inside a white SUV at the intersection of Adair Avenue and Wynnton Road in front of Rivers Homes on April 24. He was pronounced dead at 12:55 p.m. the following day. An autopsy later revealed he dieed from a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Police say Owens and McKelvey knew each other, but have not released a motive. McKelvey will appear before Recorder's Court for a preliminary hearing on Saturday at 2 p.m.
