Gunman shoots at two Ankerpak employees, hits one

A Columbus man was shot in the chest and a bullet was fired at a woman in the parking lot of Ankerpak Friday morning, police said.

The man, 46, was shot in the chest but listed in good condition after the 6:30 a.m. shooting at 1323 11th Ave.

A woman, 30, also was shot at but wasn’t struck during the shooting.

Both victims are employees of Ankerpak, a full-service contract packaging and manufacturing supplier in the southern region.

During an investigation, police said the shooting involved family violence. A 30-year-old suspect from Phenix City has been identified as the gunman in both assaults.
