Book signing: LeBron Matthews, former pastor at Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Columbus, has written a historical novel, “Tides of War,” and will be having a book signing at the Gazebo on Broadway during Uptown Market Days. Matthews, who has served for many years as a regular writer for LifeWay Christian Resources, said the book is about the pastor of a small church who joins the elite Columbus Guards at the outbreak of the Civil War. 706-596-0111

9th Annual Mountain Bike Race at Flat Rock Park: The 2014 Georgia State Championship Mountain Bike Race is back.
