CSU baseball adds pitcher Peals to 2015 recruiting class

June 17, 2014

Columbus State baseball coach Greg Appleton Tuesday announced that West Georgia Tech pitcher Kyle Peals has joined the Cougars' 2015 recruiting class.

Peals, a 6-foot-3 right-hander, struck out 66 batters in 75 innings while posting a 5-1 record during his sophomore season for the Golden Knights.

"Kyle gives us an experienced pitcher that is ready to go," Appleton said in a release. "He will be able to help our staff immediately."

CSU's pitchers led the Peach Belt Conference this year with a 3.89 earned run average.

Peals graduated from Coosa High School in Rome, Ga., prior to joining West Georgia Tech.

Appleton will be announcing the rest of the 2015 class next week.
