Two men rob, hijack car from three men

A car occupied by three men was stolen at gunpoint near Third Avenue and 18th Street Thursday, Columbus police said in a report.

The victims told police that two men approached them around 4 p.m. in the parking lot at the water resource plant operated by the Columbus Water Works. One pointed a pistol at the driver of the 2010 Chevy Impala, took $600 in cash and his iPhone valued at $500.

The robbers fled in the red Impala with a license plate cover with the words “Veterans Memorial.” No one was injured in the robbery.

Both robbers were described as black. One was short-haired, dark-skinned man with a teardrop tattoo and a tattoo on the right side of his mouth. The other was described as light-skinned. He was last seen wearing a camouflage bucket cap and dark shoes.

The robbery remains under investigation. Anyone with information should contact Investigative Services at 706-653-3400.
