Columbus trash left on curb with staffing shortage

June 20, 2014

If you are on a Friday schedule for Columbus crews to pickup your trash and recycling items, city officials said some items were left on the curb due to a shortage of work crews.

Pat Biegler, director of Public Works, said pickup crews were running behind in picking up trash and recycling. With a shortage in crews, Biegler said crews will be picking up items on Saturday to complete this week's pickup. Residents are urged to leave the items at the curb and they will be removed.

The Columbus Consolidated Government is hiring more personnel to address the shortage. The staffing level may be resolved within the next month.
