A man’s vehicle was stolen at gunpoint just after midnight Friday on 12th Avenue, Columbus police said.

The 35-year-old victim wasn’t injured in the vehicle hijacking.

In a report, the man told police that he was driving in the 2400 block of 12th Avenue when one of two men pointed a pistol at him in the street. The gunman took $40 cash from him and fled in the victim’s car. The vehicle was not identified in the report.

Both robbers were identified as black. One is 6 feet, 2 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a baggy white T-shirt, jeans and a black ball cap. The second is 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall. He wore a black tank top and black jeans.

The armed robbery and vehicle hijacking remain under investigation.

A similar car theft was reported Thursday in the parking lot of the water resource plant at Third Avenue and 18th Street. The robber took a 2010 Chevy Impala, some cash and a cell phone.
