The Columbus Public Library is still closed Sunday following a malfunction of the main AC unit on Thursday afternoon.

But library officials said they hope to reopen Monday at 3 p.m., following full repairs.

The AC unit has been partially repaired, according to Programming & Communications Coordinator Henry McCoy.

The remaining part will be delivered Monday and the Columbus Public Library will reopen as soon as the building returns to a comfortable temperature, McCoy said.

The building, at 3000 Macon Road, also serves as the Chattahoochee Valley Library System’s headquarters and houses its computer servers. While other branches remained opened following the malfunction, Internet and phone service was affected at all Muscogee County branches.

McCoy said the AC in the server room has been restored, as have the Internet and phone issues at other branches and at the system's website, cvlga.org.

Follow the library system's Facebook page for more updates.
