A 31-year-old man was robbed of $3,000 in Jordan's Auto Repair's parking lot Wednesday and battered after a crowd of people outside the North Lumpkin Road business declined police assistance, according to a Columbus police report.

Around 8:13 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 2500 block business after receiving reports of an assault. When she arrived, she found several people standing outside. The officer left the scene again after the individuals assured her no fight had taken place.

Two hours later, another officer was called to the Midtown Medical Center. The victim, who suffered swelling to the face from multiple punches and kicks, told police he was assaulted and robbed around 8:13 p.m.

No suspects were described in the report. Anyone with more information should contact Investigative Services at (706) 653-3400.
