Woman accused of striking victim with car

A Columbus woman is accused of using a car to strike a victim and another vehicle on 24th Street Friday, police said.

The victim, 25, was taken to Midtown Medical Center after the 10:13 a.m. assault in the 500 block of 24th Street. No condition report was available.

Chamencea Johnson, 20, is charged with one count each of aggravated assault and criminal damage to property second degree. She was ordered held in the Muscogee County Jail on bonds totaling $7,500 after a Recorder’s Court hearing.

In a report, police said Johnson struck the victim while driving a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria. After the victim was struck, the car struck another vehicle causing more than $500 in damage.

Johnson was arrested at the scene.
