AUBURN, Ala. — A memorial service for former Auburn tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen will take place Wednesday at his alma mater in Marietta, Ga.

The memorial service will be held at the Lassiter High School football stadium — known as Frank Fillman Stadium — where Lutzenkirchen played from 2006-09. It is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET.

On Thursday, there will be a public visitation and funeral mass for Lutzenkirchen at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta. The visitation will start at 10:30 a.m. The funeral mass is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Auburn's athletics department also plans to hold a public memorial at a later time. Arrangements are still pending.

Lutzenkirchen was killed in a one-vehicle crash outside of LaGrange, Ga., early Sunday morning. Joseph Ian Davis, who tried out for the Georgia baseball team last fall and was the driver of the vehicle, was also killed. Blood was drawn from Davis to determine if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
