New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - San Francisco Giants right-hander Tim Lincecum was named National League Player of the Week on Monday after throwing his second career no-hitter.
Lincecum no-hit the San Diego Padres for the second time in under a year on Wednesday, giving up only a walk in a 4-0 win.
The two-time NL Cy Young Award winner retired the last 23 batters he faced and struck out six. He threw 113 pitches -- 73 for strikes -- and helped himself on offense, too, stroking two singles and scoring two runs.
He joined Christy Mathewson as the only Giants pitchers with two no-hitters and was the 32nd pitcher in major league history to accomplish the feat.
