Friends of Historic Claflin host prayer meeting on Independence Day

Participants in a solemn assembly and prayer meeting join in prayer Friday morning near the flag pole in front of the old Claflin School. The program, hosted by Friends of Historic Claflin and led by Rev. Richard Jessie, included praise song, prayer and scripture reading and according to Jessie was to held in an effort to encourage people to turn back to God and to dedicate the Claflin property back to God as the effort to restore the old Claflin School moves forward.
