So, you are not from around here, right?
No. I was actually born and raised in a small fishing town called Homer, Alaska.
My dad is the captain of a halibut fishing boat, which my brother and I worked on. I went to college in Tacoma, Wash., and have lived in Columbus for the past year.
What is the biggest difference between Columbus and Homer, Alaska?
There are quite a few differences, but the biggest would have to be the weather!
As a kid, did you do a lot of fishing with your dad. What is the biggest fish you ever caught?
The biggest fish I ever caught was a 150-pound halibut. However, when I was 4 my brother was 6, he caught a 314-pound halibut.
What is the coolest place you have ever visited?
Southeast Asia. I graduated high school a semester early and backpacked around Malaysia and Indonesia with my best friend. If you are ever looking for a place to explore, I would recommend Southeast Asia. The food, culture, beaches, mountains and people are all so remarkable.
What is the best-kept secret in the Chattahoochee Valley?
Being new to the area I'm not sure I would know any secrets about the Chattahoochee Valley. But in my opinion, Providence Canyon is one of the beautiful hidden gems I've explored down here.
Also, you can't really beat fishing on the Chattahoochee River, especially while there is a concert going on at the Phenix City Amphitheater.
