New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim shortstop Erick Aybar has been added to the American League roster for the upcoming MLB All-Star Game, the league office announced Thursday.

Aybar, who is hitting .283 with six home runs, 45 RBI and 11 stolen bases this season, will be taking the place of Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon.

Gordon is currently dealing with a sprained right wrist.

This will be the first All-Star Game appearance for Aybar, who broke into the majors with the Angels in 2006.
