'Peter Pan Live!' canceled due to low ticket sales

Five "Peter Pan Live!" shows scheduled for next weekend at the Columbus Civic Center have been canceled due to low ticket sales, according to Box Office manager Lisa Thomas-Cutts.

The decision was made Thursday.

Thomas-Cutts would not say how many advanced tickets had been purchased, but all sales will be refunded at the point of purchase. If you bought tickets from Ticketmaster.com, you should receive an electronic refund on your credit or debit card. If you purchased tickets at Publix or the Columbus Civic Center box office, you'll need to go there for your refund.

Ticket prices for "Peter Pan Live!" originally started at $17.50 and went up to $47.50.

Thomas-Cutts said they had a gospel show earlier this year canceled due to low advanced ticket sales, and she chalked up this cancellation to slower summer months.

"We try to schedule few shows over the summers just like most other venues across the country," she said.

"Peter Pan Live!" would have been a local production presented by the Theatrical Works Live. According to a Facebook page, it's located at 233 12th Street at The Corporate Center next to The Ralston.

"Disney Junior Live! presents Pirates & Princess Adventure" is on the Civic Center's calendar for 1 p.m. Oct. 4.
