SUV taken at gunpoint in Super 8 motel parking lot

A Leslie, Ga., man's SUV was taken at gunpoint early today from the parking lot at the Super 8 motel, Columbus police said.

The victim, 26, wasn't injured in the vehicle hijacking at 1:25 a.m. at 2935 Warm Springs Road.

In a report, the victim told police that he was confronted by two men in the parking lot and one pointed a pistol at him. The robbers took his gold 2005 Cadillac Escalade and fled.

Both robbers were described as black. One was 20-25 years old, about 6 feet, 2 inches tall, with dreadlocks. He was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans. No description was available on the second suspect.

Police said the hijacking remains under investigation.
