The year was 1988. The Atlanta Braves were coming off yet another horrendous season. Not just bad, for that was the status quo. But bad even by their standards — of historical proportions. There’s an adage that every team will win 60 games and lose 60 games, but it’s what you make of the other 42 that will determine your fate. Well, they even disproved that, winning only 54 games.
