Rookie forwards Jesse Cole and Joey Martini are new additions that should add a little spice to the Snakes’ offense.
Cole played for Neumann College, now University, and was a member of its 2008-2009 NCAA Division III national championship team.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound right winger collected 80 points in 98 games over four collegiate seasons.
Cole is a native of Stratford, Ontario. He produced a pair of goals in the national championship contest, including the game winner.
Cole began training camp on the line with leading scorer Tim Green. Coach Jerome Bechard switched several forwards around, but kept Cole on Green’s line throughout the first week of camp.
Martini was the college roommate of goalie Steve Bounds for four years at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. Martini contributed 95 points in 109 games over four seasons with the Saints.
The 5-10, 190-pound Calgary native was +15 last season, which was second on the team, and also had three game-winning goals, tied for best on the Saints. Martini led the team with six power play goals.
Martini tallied 15 goals and 15 assists, second on the team in points.
During camp, he was skating with speedsters Orrin Hergott and Nic Boucher.
