Defenseman Tim Hockley will add a little punch to the Snakes roster this season. Hockley spent the past three years with the Cottonmouths’ SPHL rivals, the Huntsville Havoc. Hockley contributes experience to the defensive corps and a different style of hockey.

Hockley likes to take care of the Snakes’ end and the 6-2 defenseman will be a physical presence in front of the net. Hockley racked up 52 points and 338 penalty minutes in three seasons with the Havoc. He will make an opponent pay the price for straying too close to the Snakes’ goaltender.

Hockley and the Havoc parted amicably and he headed straight for Columbus. He immediately made an impact in training camp, producing some of camp’s biggest hits.

The Collingwood, Ontario, native will bring intensity and an edge to the defensive corps. He contributed only 15 points last season but head coach Jerome Bechard hopes to see him shoot the puck more and contribute more offensively.

Hockley enjoys killing off penalties, a role he embraced in Huntsville. He’s willing to take on any assignment Bechard gives him.

Hockley joined the Havoc after spending five seasons playing junior hockey in his native Ontario. In three seasons with Huntsville, he scored nine goals and chipped in 43 assists.
