@BR Boxtext bold lede colon:Coming up: The Snakes visit Huntsville today at 8:35 p.m. and Pensacola on Saturday at 8:05 p.m..

Where they stand: Columbus is 3-1 and tied for first with Huntsville with 6 points. Pensacola is 2-1 with 4 points.

Balanced Scoring: A rookie has the early lead as the Snakes’ scoring leader. Levi Lind, with a goal and an assist on Saturday, now has six points in the first four games. All of the other rookies have contributed early and every forward except Dan Leslie has at least a point. Leslie, the team’s tenth forward, has been enjoying increased ice time over years past. Veteran Orrin Hergott and rookie Jeff Martens are behind Lind with four points each. The rest of the forwards have two or three points each.

Bowles Debut: Center Sam Bowles arrived in Columbus on Tuesday evening and began practicing with the team on Wednesday. Bowles was waived by Missouri of the CHL on Monday. He will be in the lineup tonight. Last season, pairing Tim Green and Bowles paid big offensive dividends for the Snakes. The Snakes will have to scratch one player tonight and one tomorrow night.

Scouting Report: The Snakes meet the Havoc for the first time in the regular season. The teams split a pair of exhibition games the week before the season opener. Columbus and Pensacola square off for the first time in SPHL history. Forward Justin Rohr leads the Havoc with 7 points, followed by Mike MacDonald and Travis Kauffeldt with 6 each. Former Cottonmouth Lorne Misita leads the Ice Flyers with 5 points.
