Columbus Cottonmouths beat Pensacola Ice Flayers 7-4 as Joey Martini scores twice

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Joey Martini’s two goals led the Columbus Cottonmouths past the Pensacola Ice Flyers 7-4 Saturday night.

Martini’s two goals came in the second period, which the Snakes dominated 4-0, including two goals 46 seconds apart on the power play, first from Jeff Martens then Martini.

Dan Leslie and Tim Green also scored in a flurry, only 30 seconds apart in the first period for a 2-0 Columbus lead. Jesse Cole and Jason Slusher (empty-netter) had the other Cottonmouths goals.

Chad Rycroft earned the victory in net. He saved 29 of 33 shots while Pensacola goalie Chad Collins saved 25 of 31.
