CVCC wins in 15 innings

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Bo Foster pitched six shutout innings to lead Chattahoochee Valley to a 6-4 victory over Alabama Southern on Monday in the Alabama Community College Conference tournament.

No big deal, right? Well, he caught the first nine innings of the game.

Foster (5-3) allowed five hits and two walks to go along with four strikeouts.

Wes Adkins added to his team-record home run total as tied the game at 2 with a solo homer.

CVCC took the lead with single runs in the seventh and eighth. But Alabama Southern forced extra innings with runs in the eighth and ninth.

In the top of then 15th, Alex Montes reached on a one-out single. He went to second on a wild pitch and scored on David Buchanan’s single to left. After Adkins was intentionally walked, Antonio Callaway singled in Buchanan.

CVCC plays the Jefferson State-Northwest Shoals loser at 10 a.m. today.
