COLUMBUS, Ga. -- A Columbus man is beginning his third term as president of one of Georgia's most prestigious civil rights groups.

Edward DuBose is beginning his third consecutive term as president of the Georgia State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

He says there are still plenty of issues for the group to solve, though some thought there might be fewer after the nation elected its first black president in November.

He says there are still more young black men in jail than in college.

DuBose, who leads groups in more than 100 counties and more than 12,000 NAACP members says the group will shift its focus to youth.
