ATLANTA -- Atlanta's public transportation system plans to conduct an emergency response training exercise that will close some roads and reroute buses in the Lindbergh area.
MARTA will be conducting a "full scale police exercise" between 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday in the Lindbergh area. The drills are meant to prepare personnel for emergency incidents.
In a statement MARTA officials say participants in the annual drill include the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Atlanta Police Department, Atlanta Fire Department and Decatur Fire Department.
MARTA has done similar drills since 2002.
During the drills, buses in the area will take other routes and roads will be blocked.
