Dcon is on!
That’s right – your favorite geekfest, DragonCon, is next weekend and you need to spend some serious time right now getting ready.
That’s not to say you can’t eke some small enjoyment out of this Saturday and Sunday, but bidness is bidness. Start off either Friday night or during the day Saturday by hitting Party City, 5555 Whittlesey Blvd. No. 2400. A few items you’ll need – fake mustaches, hair color in a spray can and vampire fangs. This way, you can get all sparkly at the convention and get beaten up by those who hate “Twilight,” which is everyone.
The fun just won’t stop! But certain stores’ bidness hours will, so head over to the Columbus Beverage Superstore, 2980 N. Lake Parkway, on Saturday for some liquid refreshment. You don’t want to be paying Atlanta prices for the same stuff you can get here. I suggest a handle of Sapphire, a bit of Bacardi and a handy flask you can put it all in.
Am I condoning the consumption of alcohol in a public place such as Dcon? Not at all. You’re buying all that stuff for me. Thanks.
Slow down a little bit Saturday night by hitting the annual Country’s Midnight Run at the restaurant of the same name on Mercury Drive, just off Macon Road. I’m not saying you should run it. I’m just saying you should pretend you’re in high school again, hang out with your friends by the Coke machine and pretend to smoke cigarettes. The ladies love that kind of stuff.
