This weekend’s pickup line of choice: “Nice wheels.”

That’s because Bikes on Broadway — a two-day extravaganza featuring vendors, contests and prizes — returns to downtown Columbus.

The event is a fundraiser for Our House at Carpenter’s Way Ranch and Arabella Home for Girls. The campuses take care of children coming out of bad home situations.

Motorcycle enthusiasts will line Broadway Friday and Saturday, checking out bikes and bike products.

(Let’s hope the Butt Buffer shows up again.)

Don’t have a bike? No problem.

The festival also showcases live entertainment, with performances by popular Columbus-area acts like Band of Thieves, Haywire and Spent.

This year, the festival has a Friday night headliner: country music group Confederate Railroad.

After doing backup for David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck, the band signed with Atlantic Records and rose to prominence in the early ’90s.

Confederate Railroad has charted 18 hits and sold 5 million albums.

They’re known for hits like “Trashy Women,” “Daddy Never Was the Cadillac Kind” and “Jesus and Mama.”
