Voters to decide direction of the school board on Tuesday

Tuesday’s runoff election day features two Frank Myers-backed challengers who could help him gain a majority of anti-establishment votes on the Muscogee County School Board

Runoffs also could be viewed as a referendum on whether Superintendent David Lewis is leading the school district in the right direction

Officials seldom get credit for the things they do well

At a time when bureaucratic mistakes or government inaction seem to be the norm rather than the exception, when a Congress compromising for the common good is uncommonly rare and when public confidence in its leaders is near an all-time low, it would seem paradoxical to point to examples of wise decisions by our public stewards.
