‘She was a pawn’: Last suspect sentenced in home invasion that left man brain-damaged

Ashley Loraine Wright was one of three suspects who pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary in the case in which a jury March 9 acquitted Dewayne Vidal Searcy of aggravated battery, assault and burglary. Wright testified against Searcy, telling the court that back in 2016, she was using “a lot of Xanax,” as were her codefendants Jessica Brooke Elliott and Phillip Michael Futrell Jr.
