Gang member blames killing on dead teen, Columbus police say

Clayton Perry pleaded not guilty to murder and armed robbery October 23, 2017, in Columbus Recorder’s Court. He was accused in the shooting that occurred August 17, 2017, on Wickam Drive where 26-year-old James Francesconi of Columbus, Georgia, was killed.

Columbus firefighters and EMS pulled a woman from her Honda CRV after the car went into the Chattahoochee River at the ramp below the Phenix City Amphitheater Sunday. She was transported her to the Midtown Medical Center for evaluation. Columbus police were still investigating in the incident at the time of this report
