Do Sheree's acting skills surpass Kim's singing skills? Was Phaedra's newest photo shoot any less awkward than her maternity photos? Does Cynthia's fiance have a problem with NeNe?
Find out the answers to those questions in this week's "Real Housewives of Atlanta" recap.
Kim is still ambivalent about taking voice lessons. To calm her nerves, she calls DJ Tracy Young -- her friend, mentor and (maybe) lover. Even Tracy admits the situation is complicated. Tracy flies to Atlanta and comes to Kim's voice lesson for moral support.
Never miss a local story.
Kim reunites with Jan, the vocal coach who gave her a hard time three years ago. She sings "The Ring Didn't Mean a Thing." Believe it or not, the session isn't a total disaster. Later, Kandi meets with Kim. She doesn't see a lot of vocal progress. It makes Kandi especially worried since Kim is the opening act on her tour.
Sheree pursues an acting career. Her first opportunity is a role in a play called "The Child Support Man." The play has a two-week run and Sheree's role doesn't come with compensation. Naturally, she's not thrilled. While she weighs the pros and cons, she meets with some talent agents.
The meeting is predictably awkward. Sheree says she's starred in two plays, but can't remember one play's name. Also, she takes a lot of long pauses before reciting the lines in her sample scene. Don't worry, though: Sheree is optimistic when it's all over. "One of my greatest qualities is the confidence that I have in myself," she says.
Cynthia's fiance, Peter, isn't too thrilled about how much time she's spending on the phone with NeNe. Peter, who's stressed out about his restaurant, wants Cynthia's undivided attention.
NeNe is pretty depressed amid her husband Gregg's recent radio drama. Remember, Gregg talked to a radio host about their possible divorce. Without Gregg's permission, the radio guy apparently leaked their conversation online.
"I'm just sick of everybody," NeNe says. She's especially frustrated that Peter disapproves of NeNe and Cynthia's phone conversations.
Kandi competes in a car race. Her car of choice? A Mercedes. She'll race Sheree, who's driving her Aston Martin. Of course, the race isn't the main event on race day. Kim brings Tracy and gets mad when the other Housewives ask about their relationship. Peter gets mad when NeNe shows up. Sheree wins the race, as if that even matters.
The drama continues after the race, when NeNe calls Cynthia and asks to speak with Peter. The conversation consists of a bunch of different varieties of, "Do you have a problem with me?" Peter's answer? No, but yes.
Phaedra is still adjusting to life with the new baby. However, she somehow finds time to buy husband Apollo a limited edition watch. After that, they pose for photos with the new baby. Phaedra gets upset when the baby poops on her midway through the shoot. "He would normally save that for Apollo and his diaper changing time," Phaedra says.
Then, it's time for "artistic" photos. The phrase "dangling baby" is involved.
