The National Civil War Naval Museum presents Cool History: Naval Technology on Saturday, Aug. 3. The family-friendly event will feature Hands On Technology activities, Captain Scatterbrains’ Scavenger Hunt, a museum tour, a guided bike tour down the Riverwalk and a multimedia presentation on advances in naval technology during the Civil War.
Here's a schedule:
Guided River Walk Bike Tour at 11 a.m.: Ride On Bikes provides bikes and guests are welcome to bring their own for this guided journey through Columbus history. Bike tours are $10 per person and include admission to the museum.
Hands On Technology Family Activities, 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m. A model ship building class will demonstrate various model ship making techniques for any level. Kids can craft their own paper vessels and learn the fundamentals to building a detailed model of the U.S.S Monitor. Materials and models will be provided free with paid admission.

Scavenger Hunt, 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Captain Scatterbrains leads guests in a Scavenger Hunt. Prizes will be given.
Museum Tour, 2:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m. A guided tour of the museum will focus on technological advances in the Civil War Navies.
Steaming into the Future Multimedia Presentation 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Learn the many fascinating innovations in naval technology that developed during the Civil War.
