Batton to play golf at GSW

Former Pacelli baseball player Troy Batton has signed a scholarship to play golf for Georgia Southwestern beginning in the fall.

GSW coach Stan Shurling said Batton would have a chance to play next season despite the Hurricanes returning three seniors.

“He could earn one of the five spots — his game is that good,” Shurling said.

Shurling said Batton and the other freshmen coming in “certainly helps gives us a good nucleus for the future.”
