A resident of The Ralston is accused of exposing himself before using the lobby as a restroom early Saturday, Columbus police said.
Garry Lamont Miles, 54, was taken into custody at 5:15 a.m. to face one count of public indecency and disorderly conduct. He is held in the Muscogee County Jail for an 8 a.m. hearing in Recorder’s Court.
In a report, police said Miles exposed himself to building security in the lobby at 211 12th St. before urinating and defecating in the lobby. During an investigation, police found a trail of urine from his apartment to the lobby.
Portable equipment has been stationed outside the lobby to cool residents over the last week. The city’s Inspections and Code division ordered the owner to take measures to keep residents cool until the air conditioning system is repaired. The staff also brought in portable air conditioning units for some apartments where the temperature was more than 80 degrees this week.
