It's on at the witching hour — Harry Potter mania right here in river city. Book seven, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," hits your grimy little hand at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. Get in line now.
Or maybe you're one of the five or so people that don't like the books. Fair enough, but it'll still be worth it to check out the various costumes people sport at the near infinite amount of Potter parties across C-town Friday night.
I suggest hitting the party at Barnes & Noble, 5555 Whittlesey Road, from 7 p.m. to midnight. This should be one of the largest just because of the store's size. They're apparently having quidditch matches. Try not to be the kid that always gets picked last for sports teams.
To keep with the geek theme of the weekend, check out "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at the Coca-Cola Space Science Center. Arguably the best/worst of the Trek films, you'll no doubt have a great/horrible time. Since it's outside on the lawn, bring a camping chair. Preferably one with a cup holder.
Never miss a local story.
When you finally reach Sunday/laundry day, kick back at the homestead with your copy of the new Harry and enjoy. I suggest relaxing with a gin martini, straight up, dirty with two olives.
It's time to get your Potter on.
