Atlanta-based residential cleaning company Maid Brigade is offering veterans the chance to win their own franchise.
The $1.5 million Maid Brigade Veteran Franchise Giveaway runs from now until the end of September.
“Military veterans have done so much for our country,” Don Hay, company founder and chairman, said in a release. “This year on Veterans Day, we want to show them our appreciation by giving them their own business, a new career and comfortable lifestyle.”
Hay said about 10 percent of the company’s franchise owners are veterans. “We really like our vets,” he said. “The skills they possess, they’re proven as franchise owners.”
On November 11 — Veteran’s Day — Maid Brigade will choose up to 100 qualified vets for prizes. For most, the company will waive its $14,500 select market franchise fee.
One grand prize winner will receive a new Maid Brigade franchise operation at no cost.
The total value of the package, which includes waived franchise fees, working capital, training and equipment, is about $45,000. Second- and third-place winners will receive similar packages valued at about $27,500 and $17,500.
A Maid Brigade select market franchise is designed for smaller geographical regions encompassing about 10,000 households with incomes of at least $75,000, Hay said.
Owners manage all business aspects of an operation and oversee a staff of employees who clean homes.
