I'm mad. Really mad.
No one asked me to be part of the 2010 Dancing Stars of Columbus Memory Gala. And they wanted me to write about it? The nerve!
Last year's event sold out. This year's is sold out, too.
So they don't need me to write about it. Even if I'm not in it.
And I even have the perfect dress. Hhmmm. The shoes might be a problem, but I do have character shoes that might work.
Oh, to get back to the event. It's sponsored by the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, at the RiverMill Event Centre.
So if you don't have a ticket for Friday's event, you can watch the streaming video on your computer. It starts at 8 p.m.
It's based on the popular ABC "Dancing with the Stars" television show.
The dance couples are Wanda Amos and Pedro Rodriguez, Olivia Blanchard and Shane Hall, Dell Caldwell and Tom Wilson, Michael Eddings and Stormie Thompson, Bill Huff and Maria Burnley, Mary Nell Frick and Brace Luquire, Sammy Oates and Katrina Volgina, Jack Turner and Alee Morrison, Wright Waddell and Carrie Borum and Dusty Wellborn and Kenn Cole.
Each couple will perform one dance routine that will be judged by three judges. Trophies will be given for the best dance and People's Choice. The People's Choice trophy will be given to the couple with the most votes. Each vote is $1.
The judges are Jamie Lane Griego, Rick McKnight and Oz Roberts.
The hosts are Stacey Leebern, DJ Jones and Maria Caligaris.
They'd better call me next year. Give me Pedro and I'll guarantee we'll win.
