Here we go! First up, it's Lil Rounds, singing "I'm Every Woman."
OK, in theory this song should give Lil a safe route toward recovery. But it doesn't. Sure, she doesn't botch it, but she doesn't do anything to bolster her staying power, either. I'm half asleep mid-song, which is pretty disappointing since it's the most fast-paced song Lil has picked in weeks. She's weak on her lower register and while she kind of redeems herself with the belting, it still comes off as nothing but a desperate survival plea. I say she goes home Wednesday.
Never miss a local story.
Randy: "It sounded so wild to me."
Kara: "You still didn't tell me who you are as an artist."
Paula: "I don't think you hit quite the boiling point."
Simon: "I think this is going to be the last week we're ever going to see you."
